Lidl Grocery Stores

Location: Lidl Stores, Greenville and Spartanburg SC
Our Part: Break Room, Packaging Counter

the background

Lidl has a rich history, beginning as a humble store in Germany. In 1973, the first modern Lidl store opened in Ludwigshafen (25 miles south of Frankfurt, Germany). Employing 3 people and offering about 500 products, this small store was to become the foundation of Lidl’s far-reaching expansion. During the 1990s, they started branching outside of Germany and expanding all across Europe within a few years. Lidl has recently expanded to the US and the Greenville/Spartanburg area is one of the early opening sites for their stores. Schroeders Trim Works & Cabinets was chosen to manufacture the break room cabinets and packaging counter for 3 stores in the upstate.

the challenges

A hard deadline for the grand opening of all stores had to be met. Lidl requested the highest standards and had specific requirements in regards to the building materials used in their stores. Several products had to be sourced from Europe and delivered in a timely manner.

the results

The Schroeders Trim Works and Cabinets team finished the project within the tight deadline and without any items on a punch list. Count us amongst the many happy shoppers of this exceptional grocery chain. More stores to come soon to say “Hallo!” in the North Carolina area!
